We offer several support groups to the community, including support groups for survivors of domestic violence and teen group. Our support groups provide a safe, confidential environment for survivors to meet others who have faced similar experiences and gain knowledge and tools for empowerment. These groups are open, offer childcare for their attendees with the Kids Club program, and are free of charge.

Our support groups are gender-inclusive. This includes male and masculine survivors; men, women, and nonbinary folks who are also trans; and people who are nonbinary, genderqueer, and/or gender-nonconforming.

Group guidelines are listed below for quick reference.

For more information: contact the main office at (831) 426-3062.
Please note that our 24-hour hotline may not be able to provide the most current information about support groups.

If you’re under 18, please check out the Teen Group and one-on-one youth advocacy options on our Services for Children & Youth page!

Support Group Guidelines

Survivor Support Group Participation Requirements

  • Be aged 18 or older

  • Be someone who has experienced domestic violence, of any kind, from a partner or family member

  • All genders are welcome, which means you may share space with folks whose genders are different from your own

  • If you need to bring a support animal, please contact the main office ahead of time to let us know. We love animals, but some of our staff have severe allergies and having some time to prepare for an animal’s company helps keep everyone safe and able to participate!

More Information on Available Virtual & In-Person Groups

Please contact the main office at (831) 426-3062 to receive the most current information about the times, locations, and types of support groups. (Our hotline advocates may not always have the most current information: our main office is the best resource for information on the availability of services, including last-minute cancellations due to illness.)

Registration/Sign Up

Please contact the main office at (831) 426-3062, where you will be directed to an advocate to receive instructions on how to access a support group.

Arriving to In-Person Groups

Out of respect for other attendees, please do your best to arrive on time.

  • For in-person groups, the front door will be locked 15 minutes after the group begins to avoid interrupting the group(s).

  • For online groups, you will not be admitted into the group space after 15 minutes have passed since it began.

Kids Club (Childcare)

We provide childcare for the children of attendees, and only their children. Please do not:

  • Bring children who aren’t your own, such as your child’s friend

  • Bring children in a manner which would violate any CPS or other active legal orders

  • Have your children picked up or dropped off by a person who is legally prohibited from doing so

If no children are present when 15 minutes have passed since group began, the childcare volunteers will be dismissed and we will not be able to provide childcare after that point.

Please remember to treat our Kids Club volunteers with the same respect you would offer to a staff person.
